A tiny powerhouse.

I flashed information technology with OpenWrt, it worked fine for virtually a month then but quit. I call back the failure was due to bad voltage, the plug-in USB ability converter I used is bad. While it operated I used information technology to do all the routing for my dwelling house network and bridged the LAN to an AC1900 Wifi router. I have approx. 30 clients on my network. The onboard memory is a chip limiting.

versatile router with squeamish settings and boilerplate range

It'south a very nice router. The range was not as far as I thought information technology would be though information technology does not have whatever antennas and I'm sure where it'south placed makes a difference. I don't recommend dd-wrt because the router would non allow net access to devices sometimes which was prolonged at times (but I did non bother trying to troubleshoot why this was such as resetting the router again). I haven't tried using the router with it's stock firmware so my review is of the netgear R6300v2 software which yous can add to the router since both the ac1450 and the R6300v2 have the same hardware merely supposedly the software for the ac1450 limits some of the range of the updated software. From using the router with R6300v2 software it works quite well with a few things of note: I would not mess with too many settings when you lot get-go using the router. For me the best thing to do was set up the router with your wireless settings and go out it at that for reliable role (or reset the router if you are having problems for some reason like I was after irresolute a few more settings such as the speed of the wireless). I have not tried the usb storage feature then I cannot review it. I do find that the router volition sometimes disconnect internet admission from my laptop but my guess is that information technology isn't a major problem. The solution I found is to forget the wifi network on the reckoner and then reconnect to the wifi and information technology works fine once more. Overall I volition recommend this router since it consistently delivers wifi at fast speeds (only range was not as infrequent)

Couldn't beat it with a hammer

My quaternary Air conditioning-band WiFi router and essentially college thru-put than the ii previous, even over N-band/2.4GHz. Which shocked me, considering information technology has no external antennas. I should exist ashamed I paid and then little for it. Eventually I will re-flash it with DD-WRT's 3rd-party firmware merely the manufactory firmware is adequately comprehensive and very easy to understand and navigate through. Maybe best of all, with no external antennas, people who are pickier about their interior decor won't find in beingness visible quite and so objectionable.
